Dharma Platform for DHIS2 Symposium Data Collection
What’s in store for the 6th DHIS2 Symposium?
The novel coronavirus outbreak continues to disrupt everyday life and no one knows when we will be back to a new normal.
What we can be certain about is that following this pandemic, we will still have challenges to overcome, we must build stronger health systems, and work together to achieve the sustainable development goals and accelerate global development.
We are also certain that BAO Systems WILL host the 6th DHIS2 Symposium on October 1-2, and bring our community together. We need to share experiences on health systems strengthening, interoperability, DHIS2 for COVID-19 response, learn from others, and advance our collective ability to facilitate change. If you would like to participate in the DHIS2 Symposium, we still have spaces available. Tickets available here.
With the health and well-being of the DHIS2 community in mind, we would like to understand how the COVID-19 outbreak may affect participation at the DHIS2 Symposium. Will participants come in person? Should the Symposium be completely virtual? Using BAO Systems’ recently acquired Dharma Platform, we sent a survey to participants already registered for the Symposium to collect data on how to best create an engaging DHIS2 Symposium experience.
What is the dharma platform?
Dharma Platform facilitates efficient, effective data collection, analysis, and project management, anywhere, anytime.
The rapidly adaptable, user-centric platform instantaneously makes continuous data collection actionable and accessible no matter the analytic experience.
Using Dharma Platform, individuals with little-to-no technical or coding expertise can design and deploy data collection instruments on any device, with or without connectivity. The platform provides a complete, out-of-the-box, secure/encrypted, enterprise-level solution to equip organizations with the tools and insights to quickly maximize their impact on the world.
“I used the Dharma Platform to collect data from unlicensed/anonymous users about our annual DHIS2 Symposium and COVID-19 and I just love how quick and easy it was to configure. The Dharma Platform is user friendly and I was able to create and deploy my survey in minutes without having experience with data collection tools. The UI is clean and straightforward, and you have the ability to design anything from small single point surveys to complex projects with multiple forms. I especially appreciate the flexibility when designing the survey as well as the “drag and drop” function. The skip logic feature is also cool.”

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the DHIS2 Symposium 2020 has been rescheduled to September 1-17, 2020. With the health and well-being of the DHIS2 community in mind, we have decided that the DHIS2 Symposium will be a 100% virtual experience this year.
